Identity
Robert Monturiol is a board advisor and specialist in AI governance and strategic value, with a three-decade career in banking, consulting, technology and entrepreneurship across Europe, the United States and Latin America.
He has founded, grown and exited regulated financial institutions in Latin America; established and managed an institutional investment vehicle for sustainable infrastructure in Canada; and led customer intelligence and data analytics practices serving European and Latin American banks. He combines this business career with postgraduate university teaching and an ongoing research initiative on cognitive variance and professional performance.
In 2014 he founded ICTINEO, a banking-as-a-service platform whose name is an open tribute to the Ictíneo, the submarine designed by the Catalan inventor Narcís Monturiol (1819-1885), not to be confused with him. The company was sold to Bradesco in 2024.
